Converting decimal days to days and hours

Let's take 8.75 decimal days as an example. The number to the left of the decimal point is the integer part, which in this example is 8. This number can be taken as it is, which means we have 8 days [d]. The number to the right of the decimal point is the value of the decimal place, i.e. 0.75. This number must be multiplied by 24 to obtain the value in hours [h]. 0.75 * 24 = 18 hours [h] . In total, 8.75 decimal days therefore equal 8 days [d] and 18 hours [h].

Converting days and hours to decimal days

To convert days [d] and hours [h] to decimal days, divide the hours [h] by 24 and add them to the days [d]. As an example, let's take 8 days [d] and 42 hours [h]. Divide the 42 hours [h] by 24, which gives 1.75. Now add this result to the 8 days [d] and you get 9.75 decimal days.
