Frequency Converter

Created by: tinycalcs.com/en
Number of supported units: 25
Last update: 2026

This frequency converter features 25 units. This makes it possible to convert freely between frequency, rotational speed, or angular velocity. All values are converted in real time and displayed with up to 20 decimal places, ensuring sufficient accuracy.

Two Steps to Your Result

Step 1: Select the required units

Our frequency converter offers several input fields, each displaying the current unit symbol (for example, Hz, 1/min or MHz). To change a unit, simply click on the unit symbol and select your preferred measurement from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Enter your value

Once you have selected the desired units in the frequency converter, simply enter the value you want to convert. You can input numbers into any of the available fields. As soon as you enter a value in one field, all other fields will automatically update and display the converted results. Both the entered value and the calculated results are automatically rounded to the predefined number of decimal places.

Add-on features

At the bottom of the frequency converter, you will find two green buttons. The button on the right resets the converter to its default state. This restores all units, values, and decimal settings to their original configuration. The button on the left clears the current inputs by setting all values to zero, while keeping your selected units and decimal settings unchanged.

Conversion table for frequency units

Frequencies are always specified with a numerical value and a corresponding unit. A conversion table can be used to determine the value of the known frequency in another unit. For example: How many hertz [Hz] are in 1 megahertz [MHz]?. In most cases, a conversion table is used to determine the conversion factor or the appropriate calculation method for converting a frequency into another unit. However, the table is relatively large and confusing, making it difficult for inexperienced users to understand.

The following tool provides a solution to this problem by allowing conversion factors and calculation methods to be determined. The conversion table comprises a total of 25 units for frequencies, rotational speeds, and angular velocities.

Converting frequencies in everyday life

There are frequency units that are rarely used in everyday life. These include, for example, centihertz [cHz] and hectohertz [hHz]. It is also unlikely that the value of a very small frequency will be converted into terahertz [THz]. For this reason, it is not necessary to know all conversion values by heart. However, there are frequency units that are used very frequently in everyday life. Examples include hertz [Hz], megahertz [MHz], and gigahertz [GHz]. For these frequency units, it can be very helpful to know the calculation method and the conversion value by heart.

Convert hertz and megahertz

Hertz [Hz] is the SI unit of frequency and indicates the number of repetitive events per second in a periodic signal. A frequency of 1 Hertz [Hz] therefore corresponds to 1 repetition per second. In contrast, 1 megahertz [MHz] corresponds to 1,000,000 repetitions per second. To convert Hertz [Hz] to megahertz [MHz], a conversion factor of 106 is therefore used. The value in megahertz [MHz] multiplied by 106 gives the value in hertz [Hz]. Dividing the value in hertz [Hz] by 106 gives the value in megahertz [MHz].

  • Hertz [Hz] = megahertz [MHz] * 106
  • Megahertz [MHz] = hertz [Hz] ÷ 106

Convert hertz and gigahertz

The value of 1 gigahertz [GHz] corresponds to one billion cycles per second. To convert between gigahertz [GHz] and hertz [Hz], a conversion factor of 109 is used. The value in gigahertz [GHz] multiplied by 109 gives the value in hertz [Hz]. Dividing the value in hertz [Hz] by 109 gives the value in gigahertz [GHz].

  • Hertz [Hz] = gigahertz [GHz] * 109
  • Gigahertz [GHz] = hertz [Hz] ÷ 109

Converting megahertz and gigahertz

While megahertz [MHz] corresponds to one million cycles per second, gigahertz [GHz] corresponds to one billion cycles per second. Gigahertz [GHz] is therefore 1,000 times greater than megahertz [MHz]. The conversion between gigahertz [GHz] and megahertz [MHz] is done using a conversion value of 1,000. The value in gigahertz [GHz] multiplied by 1,000 gives the value in megahertz [MHz]. Dividing the value in megahertz [MHz] by 1,000 gives the value in gigahertz [GHz].

  • Megahertz [MHz] = gigahertz [GHz] * 1,000
  • Gigahertz [GHz] = megahertz [MHz] ÷ 1,000

Convert hertz and revolutions per minute

The value of 1 hertz [Hz] corresponds to 1 revolution per second. This means that 60 complete revolutions are achieved within one minute. A conversion value of 60 is therefore used to convert between revolutions per minute [1/min] and hertz[Hz] . The value in hertz [Hz] multiplied by 60 gives the value in revolutions per minute [1/min]. Dividing the value in revolutions per minute [1/min] by 60 gives the value in hertz [Hz].

  • Revolutions per minute [1/min] = hertz [Hz] * 60
  • Hertz [Hz] = revolutions per minute [1/min] ÷ 60

Convert hertz and degrees per second

At a frequency of 1 hertz [Hz] a complete revolution is achieved within one second. The complete revolution of a circle corresponds to 360 degrees. Thus, a conversion value of 360 is used for the conversion between Hertz [Hz] and degrees per second. The value in hertz [Hz] multiplied by 360 gives the value in degrees per second [°/s]. Dividing the value in degrees per second [°/s] by 360 gives the value in hertz [Hz].

  • Degrees per second [°/s] = hertz [Hz] * 360
  • Hertz [Hz] = degrees per second [°/s] ÷ 360
