Converting milliseconds to hours and minutes

The conversion of milliseconds [ms] to hours [h] and minutes [min] is best explained with an example. The starting point for the calculation example is 8,220,000 milliseconds [ms]. First, this value is divided by (10³ * 3,600) to calculate the number of decimal hours. The result of this calculation is 2.2833° decimal hours. The number to the left of the decimal point is the integer part, which in this example is 2. This number can be taken unchanged and corresponds to the final result of 2 hours [h]. The number to the right of the decimal point must still be converted into minutes [min] by multiplying it by 60. So 0.2833° * 60 equals 17 minutes [min]. A total of 8,220,000 milliseconds [ms] thus corresponds to 2 hours [h] and 17 minutes [min].

Converting hours and minutes to milliseconds

To convert hours [h] and minutes [min] to milliseconds [ms], multiply the hours [h] by 60 and add them to the minutes [min]. The result of this calculation must then be multiplied by (10³ * 60).
