Converting hours & minutes to days & hours
The conversion of hours & minutes to days & hours is best explained with an example. The starting point for the calculation example is 27 hours [h] and 30 minutes [min]. First, the value in minutes [min] is divided by 60 and then the value in hours [h] is added. The result of this calculation is divided by 24. This gives the value in decimal days. In this calculation example, this is (30 ÷ 60 + 27) ÷ 24 = 1.145833333 decimal days. The number to the left of the decimal point is the integer part, which in this example is 1. This number can be taken unchanged and corresponds to the final result of 1 day [d]. The number to the right of the decimal point must still be converted into hours [h] by multiplying it by 24. 0.145833333 * 24 equals 3.5 hours [h]. In total, 27 hours [h] and 30 minutes [min] correspond to 1 day [d] and 3.5 hours [h].
Converting days & hours to hours & minutes
To convert days & hours to hours & minutes, a similar procedure is required as in the previous example. In the first step, days & hours are converted to decimal hours. To do this, multiply the value in days [d] by 24 and add the number of hours [h]. For example, 1 day [d] and 3.5 hours [h] result in (1 day * 24 + 3.5 hours) = 27.5 decimal hours. The number to the left of the decimal point can be left unchanged and already corresponds to the final result of 27 hours [h]. The number to the right of the decimal point must be converted into minutes [min] by multiplying it by 60. So 0.5 * 60 equals 30 minutes [min]. In total, 1 day[d] and 3.5 hours [h] correspond to 27 hours [h] and 30 minutes [min].
