Converting deciseconds into hours and minutes

The conversion of deciseconds [ds] into hours [h] and minutes [min] is best explained with an example. The starting point for the calculation example is 80,400 deciseconds [ds]. First, this value is divided by 36,000 to calculate the number of decimal hours. The result of this calculation is 2.2333° decimal hours. The number to the left of the decimal point is the integer part, which in this example is 2. This number can be taken unchanged and corresponds to the final result of 2 hours [h]. The number to the right of the decimal point must still be converted to minutes [min] by multiplying it by 60. So 0.2333° * 60 equals 14 minutes [min]. A total of 80,400 deciseconds [ds] therefore corresponds to 2 hours [h] and 14 minutes [min].

Converting hours and minutes to deciseconds

To convert hours [h] and minutes [min] to deciseconds [ds], multiply the hours [h] by 60 and add them to the minutes [min]. The result of this calculation must then be multiplied by 600.
