This capacitance converter features 21 units of electrical capacitance, enabling arbitrary conversion between different units. All capacitance values are converted in real time and displayed with up to 20 decimal places, ensuring sufficient accuracy.
Two Steps to Your Result
Our capacitance converter offers several input fields, each displaying the current unit symbol (for example, F, mF, µF or nF). To change a unit, simply click on the unit symbol and select your preferred measurement from the dropdown menu.

There are many units of electrical capacity that are rarely used in everyday life. These include, for example, hectofarad [hF], decifarad [dF] and statfarad [statF]. It is also rather unlikely that conversions will be made between a very small capacity unit and a petafarad [PF]. For this reason, it is not necessary to know all conversion values by heart. However, there are capacitance units that are used very frequently in everyday life. Examples include the farad [F], kilofarad [kF], and microfarad [µF]. For these capacitance units, it can be very helpful to know the calculation method and the conversion value by heart.
Convert farad and nanofarad
In electrical engineering, capacitor values are often significantly smaller than one farad. As a result, capacitance values are frequently expressed using SI prefixes. The prefix "nano" is based on a power of ten with a value of 109. This value can be used to convert between farads [F] and nanofarads [nF]. The value in farads [F] multiplied by 109 gives the value in nanofarads [nF]. Dividing the value in nanofarads [nF] by 109 gives the value in farads [F].

Converting farads and microfarads
The capacity of capacitors is often specified in microfarads [µF]. The prefix "micro" corresponds to a value of 106, which also serves as the conversion value between farads [F] and microfarads [µF]. The value in farads [F] multiplied by 106 gives the value in microfarads [µF]. Dividing the value in microfarads [µF] by 106 gives the value in farads [F].

Converting farads and millifarads
Converting between farads [F] and millifarads [mF] is very simple. A conversion value of 1,000 is used for the calculation. The value in farads [F] multiplied by 1,000 gives the value in millifarads [mF]. Dividing the value in millifarads [mF] by 1,000 gives the value in farads [F].

Converting farads and kilofarads
Farads [F] and kilofarads [kF] belong to the metric system of units, which makes conversion very easy. A conversion value of 1,000 is used for the calculation. While the prefix "mega" corresponds to a value of 106, "kilo" stands for a value of 103. Dividing the value in kilofarads [kF] by 1,000 gives the value in megafarads [MF].
